Cleaner & Greener

Like many, we want the world to become a greener and cleaner place. Our role is to offer new solutions that provide significant safety and cost benefits to offshore wind projects and lead to more efficient and effective energy supply from a key renewable source.

Our journey

2016

Limpet Technology obtains a Scottish Enterprise SMART innovation grant to develop a new heave compensating winch for offshore personnel transfer.

2017

Prototypes of the system are designed and tested on a new, custom designed CTV simulation rig and at the ORE Catapult’s 7MW Levenmouth Demonstrator Turbine.

2018

Prototype testing commences at Orsted’s Walney and Barrow Offshore windfarms in the Irish Sea.

2019

Pict Offshore is formed with seed funding from Orsted, who becomes a minority shareholder. The product is named ‘Get Up Safe’ or GUS for short. Pict and GUS win the Scottish Renewables Green Energy Award for Innovation.

2020

Pict collaborates with Orsted on GUS system design and contracts to supply its flagship UK project Hornsea 2 with 165 GUS systems, entirely replacing boat landings as the method of transfer from CTV, a World first.

2021

GUS systems are assembled in Pict’s production facility in Fife and shipped to locations in Denmark and Netherlands for installation onto the Transition Piece platforms. Pict launches the first GUS training centre with Modal Training in Immingham UK. headcount grows to 40 staff. Pict secures an OWGP grant to develop the next generation GUS system

2022

Pict contracts with Orsted to supply three new USA windfarm projects, Southfork, Revolution and Sunrise with GUS systems across all 161 wind turbines. These are the first commercial scale offshore windfarms in North America. Pict is Highly Commended in the Innovation category of Renewable UK’s Offshore Wind Awards.

2023

GUS systems are assembled in Pict’s production facility in Fife and shipped to Providence, RI and Albany, NY for installation by tier 1 contractor Riggs Distler. Pict launches the second GUS training centre, in collaboration with NOWTC and Maersk, in Long Island, USA.

2024

Safe transfers by GUS system at Hornsea 2 pass 10,000 since 2022. Pict and Orsted release videos to mark this milestone. Pict supplies GUS to its first non-Orsted customer, RWE’s THOR offshore wind substation.

2025

Southfork windfarm becomes fully operational. GUS systems for Revolution are commissioned offshore

Office Administrator

We are looking for an Administrator who can support multi-disciplinary teams including sales, commercial, training, procurement, and engineering. This part time role requires someone who can handle a wide range of tasks, is a fast learner and willing to take on additional responsibilities.
